About Course

The course is designed to give students a deep understanding of the human mind and how it works. Students will learn about the different psychological theories and perspectives, as well as the research methods that are used to study human behavior. The course is assessed through a combination of written exams and coursework. The written exams cover all of the topics that are taught in the course, and the coursework allows students to demonstrate their understanding of the subject through essays, practical experiments, and presentations. The Cambridge AS and A Level Psychology course is a challenging but rewarding course. It is a good choice for students who are interested in studying psychology at university, or for students who want to pursue a career in a field where an understanding of human behavior is important, such as social work, counseling, or teaching.

Cambridge International AS & A Level Psychology is designed to give students an understanding of psychological concepts, theories and research methodology. It provides candidates with opportunities to consider the approaches, issues and debates and research methodology that underpin all aspects of psychology. At AS Level candidates study four psychological approaches:

Biological psychology: This topic explores the biological bases of human behavior, such as the nervous system, hormones, and genetics.

Cognitive psychology: This topic explores how people think, learn, and remember.

Social psychology: This topic explores how people interact with each other and how social factors influence behavior.

Developmental psychology: This topic explores how people develop and change throughout their lives.

Each approach is exemplified though 12 core studies. The core studies illustrate a wide range of research methods used in psychology, such as experiments, self-reports, case studies, observations, correlations and longitudinal studies. By exploring the relationship between the content of the study and the research methods, candidates will gain a broad understanding of how psychologists study experiences and behaviors and why the research took place.

Chapter 02 – Disorders
The food has to be transported to all parts of the plant. This is done by the vascular tissue called the phloem. Thus, xylem and phloem transport substances in plants. In most animals, the blood that circulates in the body distributes food and oxygen to different cells of the body.

Chapter 03 – Impulse control disorders
Plant reproduction is the production of new offspring in plants, which can be accomplished by sexual or asexual reproduction. Sexual reproduction produces offspring by the fusion of gametes, resulting in offspring genetically different from either parent.

Chapter 04 – Anxiety disorders and fear-related disorders
Energy Flow in Ecosystems. In every ecosystem, organisms are linked through feeding relationships. These feeding relationships are represented by food chains and food webs.

Chapter 05 – Water
Water is the liquid that makes life on Earth possible. All living things, from tiny cyanobacteria to giant blue whales, need water to survive.

Chapter 06 – Structure of Atom
Atoms consist of an extremely small, positively charged nucleus surrounded by a cloud of negatively charged electrons.

Chapter 07 – Physical and Chemical Changes

Chapter 08 – Transmission of Heat
Heat transfer is a discipline of thermal engineering that concerns the generation, use, conversion, and exchange of thermal energy between physical systems.

Chapter 09 – Dispersion of Light
When white light is passed through a glass prism it splits into its spectrum of colours (in order violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red) and this process of white light splitting into its constituent colours is termed as dispersion.

Chapter 10 – Sound Waves
A sound wave is a pattern of disturbance caused by the movement of energy travelling through a medium (such as air, water or any other liquid or solid matter) as it propagates away from the source of the sound.

Chapter 11 – Circuits and Electric Current
To introduce children to the fundamentals of electric circuits and make them capable of troubleshooting simple electrical circuits.

Chapter 12 – Investigating the Space
Space exploration, investigation, using crewed and uncrewed spacecraft, of the reaches of the universe beyond Earth’s atmosphere and the use of the information so gained to increase knowledge of the cosmos and benefit humanity.
